   Cepi Corpus pr me Simon Wilmer Sherf—
   Kent County | Phillip Holeadger of Kent County Planter als —
        in | Ss   Dicts Phillip Holeadger of Kent County in ye Province
   Maryland   –   | of Maryld Planter was Summoned to answer unto –
   Clement Barkston of a plea that he render him ye full & Just —
   Quantity of Nineteen hundred fifty & Six pounds of good Sound –
   & every way well Conditioned leafe Tobacco in Caske to Containe the
   Same of the value of Nineteen pounds ten Shillings Sterling money
   which from him he unjustly detains &ca. and Whereupon the afd
   Plt by David Macbride his attry Saith that Whereas the afd Deft ye.
   twenty Second day of January in the Year of our Lord Christ one Thous:
   :and Seven hundred & fifteen at Shrewsberry Parish in Kent County wthin
   the Jurisdiccõn of this Court by his Certain Writing Obligatory which
   he the Said Deft Sealed with his Seale & as his deed delivered —
   hereinto Court brought the date Whereof is the Same day & Year afd
   Granted himselfe holden & firmly bound unto the afd Plt in the afd
   full & Just Quantity of Nineteen hundred fifty & Six pounds of good
   Sound & Every way well Conditioned leafe Tobacco in Casque to Containe
   the Same of the afd value of Nineteen pounds tenn Shills Sterling
   money to be paid to the afd Plt when thereunto Required Nevertheless
   the afd Deft altho’ often required the afd full & Just Quantity of Nineteen
   hundred fifty & Six pounds of good Sound & Every way well Condition:
   :ed leafe Tobacco in Caske to Containe ye Same To the afd Plt he hath
   not paid but to him to render or pay hitherto hath denyed & Still
   doth deny & unjustly detains to ye damage of him the Said Plt
   nineteen pounds tenn Shillings Sterling money & thereupon he
   brings Suite &ca.                   D Macbride pr Quer Plds Jno Doe & Rd Roe
   And now at this Court to wit the 15th day of March Anno Domi 1719 comes
   the afd Deft and defends the force and injury when &ca And Says that he
   Cannot gainsay the Plt his accõn afd So as afd against him brought nor
   can he Say but that the Said Plt. ought to recover his Debt by Occation
   of the premises afd with Cost of Suite which the Said Plt does not gainsay
   Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here the 15th day of March
   Anno Domi 1719 afd That the Said Clement Barkston Recover against the
   Said Phillip Holeadger as well the Sume of Nineteen hundred fifty
   Six pounds of Tobacco his Debt afd In forme afd Confessed as also the Sume
   of Two hundred Thirty Nine pounds of Tobacco by the Court here adjudged to
   him for his Costs and charges about his Suite in this behalfe laid out and
   expended And the Deft in mercy &ca.                        Jams Smith Clk
