   374                                     March Court 1719
   afd and often afterwards the afd Sum of Three pound Currant Silver
   money of Maryland to the afd Plt he hath not rendered nor paid but
   that to him to render or pay hitherto hath denyed and Still doth deny
   and unjustly detains to the damage of him the Said Plt Six pounds
   Currant money of the Province afd and thereupon he brings Sute &ca.

   and now at this Court viz this fifteenth day of March Anno Domi 1719
   here present the afd Deft in his proper person comes and defends the
   force and injury when &ca. And Says that he Cannot gainsay the Plt his
   Accõn afd So as afd against him brought nor can he Say but that the
   Said Plt ought to Recover his debt by Occation of the premises afd to the
   which the Said Plt does not gainsay Therefore it is Considered by the
   Justices here the 15th day of March Anno Domi 1719 afd that the Said Richard
   Cole Recover against the Said George Gleaves as well the Sume of
   Three pounds Currant money his debt afd Confessed as also the Sume of
   Two hundred Eighty one pounds of Tobacco by the Court here adjudged to him
   for his Costs and Charges by him about his Suite in this behalfe laid out
   and expended and the Deft in mercy &ca —–

   George Gleaves | And the Said Deft George Gleaves comes into Court and Saith
   that he will pay the Said Plt William Smith the Cost in the afd Accõn that
   hath been by the Said Plt thereon Expended
TB D:M Nichs Poor | This being an Accõn of Trespass on the Case commenced
                at | by the Plt agst. the Sd Deft And wherein the Sherf of
      William Woodland | Said County to whom the writ in the Same accõn was directed

makes return to the Court here on the third tuesday in
   March to wit ye 15th day of the Same month Anno Domi 1719 being the day of
   return of Said writ Endorst Cepi Corpus pr Simon Wilmer Sherf
    And the Said Deft by John Johnson his attry comes and defends the
   force and Injury &ca. and Saveing to himselfe all manner of Exceptions and
   advantages as well to the writ as to the Decln of the Said Plt prays liberty to
   imparle thereto and to Answer at next Court and he hath the Same day is —
   given the Plt in like manner
