   His Ld Ship | This being an action of Trespass on the Case Commenced
           at | by his Lord Ship agst the Said John Porter And wherein
   John Porter | the Sherf of Kent County to whom the writ in the Same

accõn was directed makes return thereof on the third —


tuesday in Novembr. to wit the 17th day of the Same Month
   Anno Dom 1719 Endorst Cepi Corpus pr Simon Wilmer Sherf
   Kent County Ss The Jurors for the Honble the Lord Proprietarie and the body

of Kent County on their Oath do present that John Porter late

  of South Sassafras Lower hundred in the Said County Planter
   the fifteenth day of March In the Year of our Lord Christ one Thousand
   Seven hundred and Seventeen at South Sassafras Lower hundred afd
   in the County afd and within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court the fear of God
   before his Eyes not having but by the Instigation of the Devill being
   led did Committ fornication with a Certain Mary Jackson and thereby
   did begitt a Child on the body of the Sd Mary Jackson to the high
   displeasure of Almighty God to the evill & pernicious example of
   others against the peace of our Said Lord Proprietarie his rule and —
   dignity & against the forme of an Act of Assembly of this Province
   now in force in Such Case made and Provided
                                                                         DMacbride pr Dño proprie
   on the back of the preceeding Indictmt was Endorst as folls to wit Billa
   Vera pr Francis Barney foreman —————
   and the afd John Porter comes and defends the force and injury
   when &ca. And Says that he Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd So as
   afd against him nor can he Say but that he is guilty of Committing the
   fornication in the afd Indictment with the afd Mary Jackson and thereon
   Submitts himself to the Court and is willing that Judgment Should be
   Entered for his fine for his Committing the offence afd as also all Costs
   and Charges thereon accruing Therefore it is Considered by the Justices
   here the 19th day of Novembr Anno Domi 1719 That the afd John Porter
   pay the Sume of Thirty Shills Currant money for his fine for Committing
   fornication as afd in forme afd Confessed as also the Sume of four hundred
   and thirteen pounds of Tobacco by the Court here adjudged for his Costs and
   charges on the premises afd
   ordered by the Court here that the fine afd be Delivered the Sherf of Kent County
   which was Accordingly done by the assumn of Nathl Pearce
   ordered by the Court here that there be payd to the afd Mary Jackson
   the Sume of two hundred and fifty pounds of Tobacco by the afd John
   Porter it being adjudged his part or halfe the Charge the afd Mary was
