                                       Novembr Court 1719                                         349 
   a certain Mary Neale and thereby did begett a Child on the body of the Said
   Mary Neale to the High displeasure of Almighty God to the evill and –
   pernicious example of Others against the peace of our Said Lord Propry
   his rule and dignity and against the forme of an Act of Assembly of this
   Province now in force in Such Cases made and provided

     on the back of the preceeding Indictment was Endorsed as folls vizt. Billa
     Vera pr Francis Barney foreman
        and the afd Anthony Debruler comes and defends the force and
   injuyr when &ca. And Says he is not guilty of the premises afd and for
   tryal puts himselfe on the Country and prays leave to Answer hereunto
   untill the next Court and he hath the Same time is given to the Ld –
   Proprietarie also   And the person prosecuter for his Ld Ship Says he
   is guilty as afd alledged
      Att which Said next Court to wit the 18th day of August Anno Domi
   1719 comes again as well his Said Ld Ship by his attry afd as the Sd Antho In
   his proper person who prays that the afd cause may be further Continu’d
   untill next Court which he hath and the Same day is given his Ld Ship
   also —————
      Att which Said next Court to wit the 19th day of November Anno Dom
   1719 comes again as well his Said Lord Ship by his Clarke of Indictments
   afd as also the afd Anthony Debruler in his proper person as before
   defends the force and Injury when &ca. And Says that he Cannot gainsay the
   Premises afd So as afd agst him layd nor can he Say but that he is guilty
   of the fornication afd with the afd Mary Neale and is willing that Judgmt.
   Should be Entered agst him for his fine afd on Account of the Same and Costs
   thereon accruing as also other Cost and charges thereon arriseing Therefore
   it is Considered by the Justices here the 19th day of Novembr Anno Domi
   1719 afd That the afd Anthony Debruler pay the Sume of Thirty
   Shills Currant money his fine for Committing fornication as afd in forme
   afd Confessed and also pay the Sume of four hundred Sixty five pounds
   of Tobacco Costs by the Court here adjudged accruing on the premises afd
    ordered by the Court the fine afd be dd the Sherf Kent County wch was accordinly done
   ordered By the Court here that the afd Anthony Debruler pay the person
   at Whose house the Said Mary^Nealelay Inn the Sume of two hundred pounds of
   Tobo it being adjudged his part for trouble & disgrace and Charges in bring
   :in her to bead
   ordered by the Court here that the afd Anthony Debruler pay the Said Mary Neale the
   Sume of Three hundred & Twenty pds Tobo it being adjudged his part to pay for
   keeping the Child was dd of ye afd Mary ye time the Same Lived
