and whereupon the afd plt by Thomas Bowne his
   Attry complains that whereas the afd Deft the tenth day of 9ber in the
   year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen at St. Pauls
   Parish in Kent County within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court was Indebted to the
   afd Plt in the Sume of Three pounds Sixteen Shillings and Six pence —
   Currant money of Maryland and the Sume of one Thousand five hundred –
   and Seventy three pounds of Merchantable Tobacco for the like Sumes of
   money and Tobacco by the Said Plt at the Instance and request of the Said
   Deft then and there for the use and behoofe of the Said Deft to Severall
   persons paid and laid out and So thereof being Indebted the afd Deft In
   Consideration thereof afterwards vizt. the day and year afd in the Parish
   County & Jurisdiciõn afd upon himselfe assumed and to the Said Plt
   then and there faithfully promised that he the Said Deft the afd Sumes
   of Three pounds Sixteen Shillings and Six pence and one Thousand
   five hundred and Seventy Three pounds of Merchantable Tobacco to
   the Said Plt when thereunto required would well and truly pay and –
   Content And that Whereas also the afd Deft afterwards vizt. the Tenth
   day of 9ber in the Year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven hundred &
   Eighteen at the Parish County and Jurisdiciõn afd in Consideration that
   the Said Plt had then and there Last Mentioned at the like Instance
   and Request of the Said Deft paid to a Certain John Roberts Three pounds
   Sixteen Shillings and Six pence Currant money of Maryland and two
   hundred Sixty and five pounds of Merchantable Tobacco and to a Certain
   Richard Burrough one Thousand three hundred and Eight pounds of
   Merchantable Tobacco in all Amounting to one Thousand five hundred
   and Seventy Three pounds of Merchantable Tobacco and Three pounds —
   Sixteen Shillings and Six pence Currant money of Maryland upon the
   Account and to the proper use and Benefitt of the Said Deft upon himselfe
   assumed and to the Said Plt then and there last mentioned faithfully —
   promised that he Said Deft the afd Three pounds Sixteen Shillings and Six
   pence Currant money of Maryland and the afd one Thousand five –
   hundred and Seventy Three pounds of Merchantable Tobacco last mentioned
   to the Said Plt when thereunto Required would well and truly pay and
   Content Nevertheless the afd Deft his Severall promises and assumptions afd in
   forne afd made as to the afd Severall Sumes of Tobacco in the whole Amounting to –
   Seven pounds thirteen Shillings Currant money of Maryland and Three Thousand
   one hundred and forty Six pounds of Merchantable Tobacco litle minding
   but fraudulently Intending the Said Plt in that Behalf to deceive and
   and defraud the afd Seven pounds thirteen Shillings Currant money of
