   Philip Kennard | This being an accon of Debt Commenced by the Plt
        —— | against the Said Deft wherein there Issued a Copy of
          at | the Decln with the writ in the Said Accõn and wherein
   John Twegue | there Sherf of Kent County to whom ye writ in the Same


Accõn was directed makes return to the Court here on
   the third tuesday in August to wit the 18th day of the Same month Anno
   Dom 1719 being the day of return of Said writ Endorsed Cepi Corpus Copy of
   Decln Served in time pr me Simon Wilmer Sherf
   Kent County | Ss John Twigg of Kent County Planter als Dicts John Twigg in
   Maryland | ye County of Kent planter was Summoned to Answer unto Phillip


Keynard Merchant of a plea that he render him the Sume
   of two thousand Three hundred pounds of Tobacco fo the value of twenty —
   three pounds Sterling money which he unjustly detains &ca.
           And Whereupon the afd Plt by Thomas Bowne his attry Saith
   that whereas the afd Deft the Sixth day of Decembr. in the Year of our
   Lord Christ One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen at St Pauls Parish
   in Kent County within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court by his certain bill obligatory
   which he the Said Deft Sealed with his Seale and as his deed delivered hereinto
   Court brought the date whereof is the Same day and year afd bound himselfe —
   his heires Executors & Admrs. in the afd Sume of two Thousand three hundred
   pounds of Tobacco of the afd value of twenty three pounds Sterling money
   for the true payment of the full & just Quantity of Eleven hundred and fifty
   pounds of good Sound Merchantable Clear of all manner of Trash & ground —
   Leaves in casque to Containe the Same Convenient in the afd County to the
   afd Plt his Exrs. Admrs. or assigns in and upon the Tenth day of October next
   Ensuing the date of the Said Bill and the afd Plt. in deed Saith that the afd
   Deft hath not paid the afd Sume of Eleven hundred and fifty pounds of
   Tobacco in or upon the afd tenth day of October which to him the Said Plt in
   or upon the afd tenth day of October he the Said Deft ought to have paid
   according to the forme and effect of the Said Bill by which accõn hath accrued to the
   Said Plt to Exact & have of the afd Deft the afd Sume of two Thousand three hundred
   pounds of Tobacco Yett the afd Deft altho? often required the afd Sume of Two —
   thousand three hundred pounds of Tobacco to the Said Plt hath not paid but
   that to him to render or pay hitherto hath denyed and Still doth denie and —
   unjustly detain to the damage of him the Said Plt forty Six pounds Sterlg —
   money afd and thereupon he brings Suite &ca TBowne pr qr. plds Jno Doe Rd Roe
        And now at this Court to wit this 19th day of August Anno Domi 1719 —
