   Wm Emory   | Kent County Ss Thomas Storey late of Kent County planter ali
           at | Dicts. Tho Storey of Queen Anns County planter was Summoned
   Thomas Storey | to Answer Willn. Emory of a plea yt. he render unto him the
   —————— | Sume of Six hundred pounds of Tobo of the value of Six pounds
   Sterling which from him he unjustly detains &ca. . . And whereupon the Said Plt
   by John Johnson his attry Says that whereas the afd Deft the fifteenth day of
   August in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and fifteen at
   the parish of St. Pauls in the County afd and within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court
   by his certain bill or writing obligatory Sealed with the Seale of the Sd Deft
   hereinto Court brought whose date is the day & Year afd did acknowledge
   himselfe to be holden & bound unto the Said plt in the said Sum of Six
   hundred pounds of Tobacco of the afd value of Six pounds Sterling to be paid
   to the Said Plt when he Should be thereunto required Nevertheless the afd
   Deft althõ often required the afd Sum of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco of
   the afd value of Six pounds Sterling to the Said Plt hath not paid nor any
   ways made Content for the Same but to pay the Same hath hiterto gain:
   Sayd and Still doth gainsay to the damage of the Said Plt tenn pounds
   Sterling and thereupon he brings Sute &ca.
                                                                            Johnson qr Plt plds Jno Doe Rd Roe
        and the afd Deft. by Thomas Bowne his attry comes and defends the
   force and injury when &ca. And prays leave to imparle hereunto untill next
   Court Andhe hath it the Same day is given to the plt also
        Att which Said next Court vizt. the 18th day of Novembr Anno Domi 1718
   comes again the said Plt by his afd Attry and the Sd Deft by his afd Attry
   and the Same cause was Continued untill the then next Court
          Att which Said next Court vizt. the 17th day of March Anno Domi 1718 —
   comes again the Said Plt. by his afd Attry and the Said Deft by his Said Attry
   and the Same cause was Continued untill the then next Court
           Att which Said next Court vizt. the 19th day of June Anno Domi 1719 comes
   again the Said Wm Emory by Michl. Howard his attry as the Sd Thomas Storey
   by his Said attorney afd And the Said Deft by Thomas Bowne his atry Comes
   and defends the force and Injury when &ca. and Saith that the afd Plt his —
   Accõn afd against him the Said Deft to have and maintain ought not because
   the Said Deft Saith that true it is he the Said Deft did become indebted to the
   Said Plt in the Sume of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco above declared for
   But further Saith that after the afd Deft became Indebted to the Said Plt
   as afd the Said Deft hath an Accot. justly arrisen [?] and becomes due from the
   Said Plt to the Sd Deft that is to Say the fifteenth day of July in the
   Year of our Lord Christ Seventeen hundred and Seventeen at St. Pauls —
   Parish in Kent County afd in the Jurisdiciõn of this Court for the Sume of
   two pounds Eleven Shillings & Six pence Currant money of Maryland in
   manner as in the afd Accot. hereto Annexed Specifically Shewn and —
   which by ordinary and common computation at the rate of one penny
   a pound for Tobacco Amounts to Six hundred and Eighteen pounds of
                                                                                                     Tobacco
