   Yesterdays minutes read and approved —————

| Kent County Ss Thomas Mahone of Kent County
   Thomas Tyer | Planter was attached to answer unto Thomas
             at | Tyer of Sd County of a plea of Trespass upon the Case
   Thomas Mahoon   | And whereupon the afd Plt. by Tho. Bowne his Attry Complaines
   for that whereas ye Sd Plt. Now is and at all times heretofore from the time of his
   Nativity hither to hath been a good true faithfull honest Subject of our Lord
   the King that now is and others his Royall predecessors late Kings & Queens of
   England and Great Brittaine and the Dominion thereto belonging And as Such
   hath been from the Sd time of his Nativity hither to Esteemed reputed & taken as well
   Amongst his good Neighbours and acquaintance Inhabitants of Kent County upon
   Delaware the place of his late residence as also amongst^[honest?]Neighbours Inhabitants
   of this County of Kent in Maryland ye. now place of his abode and other Liege Subjects of
   his Sd present Majestie and his Sd predecessors to whom the Sd Plt. was well known And
   alwayes acted behaved and governed himself in all things and to all persons honestly
   according to the Laws of this Land God before his eyes always Setting & having and from
   all manner of Burglary Robberys felonys Larcenies and all other Such like wicked and base
   Crimes by ye whole course of his life hitherto free & Clear and wholy unatainted hath
   remained Lived & Continued and by reason thereof the Sd Plt an honest Livelyhood as also
   great good will & Esteeme of diverse of his Sd present Majestys and his Sd predecessors
   faithfull & honest Subjects his Neighbours to himselfe he gott & purchased and hitherto
   himself his Liberty and all his Lands Tenements & Chattells Safe Secure Conserved unattaint:
   :ed in no wise Subject to ye. rigour of the Law for Such like Crimes & offences made &
   provided Yet the afd Deft. of the premises not being Ignorant but well knowing
   ye Same to be true And Maliciously Enviing ye happy Estate & Condition of ye Sd Plt
   and Machinating & Intending him ye Sd Plt not only of his good name Credit and
   Esteeme afd to hurt detract Blacken make worse and wholy to deprive and to bring
   him ye Sd Plt into Scandulous approbry Ignominity and reproach with all worthy
   persons But also Innocently to cause him the Said Plt to be brought into danger of
   Corporall punishment Loss of his Liberty Suffering grievous Imprisonment and fofeiture
   of his goods and Chattells the fourteenth day of July in the Year of our Lord Christ
   Seventeen hundred and Eighteen at St. Pauls Parish in Kent County in the Province of
   Maryland afd within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court in the presents and hearing of divers
