June Court 1719 273 delivery Saith that the Said Elizabeth did declare that the afd James Dill was the person that gott her Child on which this Court adjudges the Said James to be reputative father of the Said Child The afd James being a Servant at the time of the Said Child begott So that he is obliged in Such a Case to be answerable for the half of the Charge on Accot of ye Said Child and it is ordered by the Court here that the afd James be in Custody of the Sherf of Said County untill he Shall find Surety to answer his part of the Charge thereof on which Gilbert Falconar of Said County Merchant assumes to pay to this County at or upon the Twentieth day of November next for Account of the afd James Dill the Sume of Eleven hundred Ninety four pounds of Tobacco it being the afd James Dills part on Acco.t of the Child afd and the afd James Dill here present in Court acknowledges him: :self Indebted to his Lord Ship his heires and Successors in the Sume of five Thousand pounds of Tobacco Conditionally That if he does not after November Court next held for Said County pay on Satisfie to any person half the Charge in Maintaining the Child was delivered of Elizabeth Lock the which he is adjudged the reputative father the which he acknowledges himself Content Likewise Peter Mercy of Said County Planter acknowledges himself Indebted to his Lordship his heires and Successors in the Sume of five Thousand pounds of Tobacco Conditionally that if the afd James Dill does not after November Court next held for Said County pay or Satisfie to any person half the Charge in Maintaining the Child was delivered of the afd Elizabeth Lock the which the afd James Dill is adjudged the reputative father the which the afd Peter Mercy Acknowledges himself Content
Wm Debruler afd being bound in Recogniz.e in the Sume of Tenn pounds Sterling &ca. to appeare at this Court and to answer unto what Should be objected against him on his Lord Ships behalf and in the mean time he was to be of good behaviour and no person Shewing any cause why the Same Recognize Should not be discharged This Court here discharges the Same Likewise Benjamin Blackledge and Daniel Perkins at the Same time afd Entered into Recogniz.e in the Sume of five pounds Sterling Each &ca for the appearance of the afd W:m Debruler and that he was to answer & to be of good behaviour as afd This Court here discharges the Same Recognize |
