   Edward Hall | Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent County the
             at | twenty Second day of August in the fourth Year of his
   W:m Woodland | Lord Ships Dominion &ca. That he take William—

Woodland of Kent County Planter if he Should be found
   in his Bailywick and him Safe keep So that he have his body before his
   Said Lord Ships Justices of the next County Court to be held at our Court
   house in the Town of Chester in Said County to answer unto Edward Hall
   of a plea of Trespass upon the Case and that he have then and there
   the Said writ &ca. .  Att which Said next Court vizt. the Eighteenth day
   of November the Same year last mentioned the day of return of Said
   writ came Simon Wilmer Gent high Sherf of Said County and made
   return thereof in these words thereon endorsed as folls vizt Cepi Corpus
   pr Simon Wilmer Sherf
      and the afd Deft by Michl. Howard his attry appeared to the afd Accõn
   and prayd liberty thereof to imparle thereto and to answer at next Court
   which was granted the Same day was given the Plt in like manner
   Att which Said next Court vizt the Seventeenth day of March the—
   Same year last mentioned The afd cause Standing for tryal came the
   afd Plt by Thomas Bowne his attry and the Said Deft by his afd
   attry and the afd Plt. by his afd Attry declares as folls vizt Kent County Ss
   William Woodland of Kent County Planter was attached to Answer unto
   Edward Hall of a plea of Trespass upon the Case And whereupon the afd
   Plt. by Thomas Bowne his attry Complains for that whereas ye afd Plt the
   twenty Seventh day of Aprill in the Year of our Lord Christ Seventeen
   hundred and Eighteen at S.t Pauls Parish in Kent County afd in the
   Jurisdiciõn of this Court was possessed of a Certain Gelding of a Sorrel Clour
   with a blasé in his face and of the price of fifteen pounds Sterling money
   as the proper Gelding of him the Said Plt. and So thereof being possessed
   the Same Plt the Said Gelding afterwards vizt the afd twenty Seventh
   day of Aprill in the Year afd at the Parish in the County and Jurisdiciõn
   afd out of his hands and possession Casually Lost which Said Gelding So lost
   afterwards vizt. the afd twenty Seventh day of Aprill in the Year afd
   at the Parish afd in the County & Jurisdiciõn afd into he hands and possession
   of the afd Deft by finding came Yet the afd Deft knowing the Gelding -
   afd to be the proper Gelding of him the Said Plt and to the Said Plt
   of right to belong and appertain Nevertheless Machinating and fraudu:
  :lently Intending the Said Plt in that behalf Craftily and Subtilly to
   deceive and defraud the Said Gelding to the Said Plt altho’ afterwds
