   a Writ of Enquiry to the Sherf of Said County to Enquire into the Damages afd

Charles Smith .	\|	Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent County the .
a^t	\|	Twenty Second day of August in the fourth Year of his
Robert Maxfield	\|	Lod Ships Dominion &c^a. That he take Robert
————,,———		Maxfield of Kent County Miller if he Should be found

   in his Bailywick and him safe keep So that he have his body before his
   Said Lord Ships Justices of the next County Court to be held at our Court house
   in the town of Chester in Said County to Answer unto Charles Smith of
   a plea of Trespass of the Case And that he have then and there the Sd
   writ &c^a. Att which Said next Court viz^t. the Eighteenth day of November
   the Same Year last mentioned The day of return of Said writ Came Simon
   Wilmer Gent. high Sherf of Said County and made return thereof in
   these words Thereon endorsed as foll^s viz^t. Cepi Corpus p^r Simon Wilmer Sherf
   and the afd Deft by Michael Howard his att^ry appears to the afd Accõn
   and prays liberty thereof to imparle thereto and to answer at next Court
   which was granted the Same day was given the Plt in like manner
      Att which Said next Court viz^t. This twentieth day of March Annoq
   Domini One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen came the afd Plt.
   by Thomas Bowne his att^ry and the afd Deft by Mich^l Howard his —
   att^ry. And the afd Plt by his Said Att^ry discontinues the Said Accon :
   Therefore it is Considered by the Court here viz^t. the Same day last
   mentioned That the afd Plt take nothing by his writ afd And that the
   Said Deft Robert Maxfield Recover against the afd Charles Smith
   the Sume of One hundred Sixty Six pounds of Tobacco Cost expended
   about his defence according to the forme of the Statute &c^a
