March Court 1718 237 and maintain the Said verdict wherefore the Said James Harris who prosecutes as well fo[r] the^SdLord propr. as for himself prays that the Said verdict may be quashed & held for naught & for Reasons in Arrest of the Said Judgment Shews to the Court these folls. vizt. 1.st that the Decln being layd in the Delinct[?] only and the Issue being taken in the debet the verdict is not good. 2dly that the entry of the Said verdict on the record is not according to form of Law which is manifest Error, with many others in the Record of the Said Judgmt. &ca. TBowne pr Plts. and the afd Issue verdict and Reasons being read and by the Attrys on both Sides argued and mature deliberation by the Court thereupon taken do adjudged the afd Reasons good and Sufficient in Law to barr the afd Deft from having Judgment on the verdict of the Jurors afd And that the Deft afd Plead over and thereupon the Same Cause is Continued till next Court
Evidence to the afd Jury for his Ld Ship & James Harris against Sarah Jewers three days ordered by the Court here that the Said James Harris pay the Said Danniel Ferrill ninety pounds of Tobacco for his Said Attendance Mathew Lappage proves that he attended this Court four days as an Evidence for his Ld Ship & James Harris against Sarah Jewers before he was Sworn to the afd Jury ordered by the Court here that the Said James Harris pay the Said Mathew Lappage one hundred and twenty pounds of Tobo for his Said Attendance William Trulock proves that he attended the Court four days as an Evidence for his Lord Ship & James Harris against Sarah Jewers before he was Sworn to the afd Jury ordered by the Court here that the Said James Harris pay ye Said William Trulock one hundred and twenty pounds of Tobacco for his attendance
