   day of December in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and eigh:
  :teen at ye Parish of S.t Pauls in the County afd & within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court was
   indebted unto the afd Plt in the Sume of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco for So much
   Tobacco by him the Said Plt to her the Said Deft and at her the Said Defts Special Instan[ce]
   and request and for her the Said Defts use and behoofe then and there mutually lent and
   accomodated and being So indebted the afd Deft the day & year afd at the parish County and
   Jurisidiciõn afd did upon herselfe assume and to the Said Plt then and there faithfully
   promise that She the Said Deft the Said Sum of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco to .
   the Said Plt when She Should be thereunto required would well and truly content
   and pay And whereas the afd Plt & Deft the day and Year afd at the parish County
   and Jurisdiciõn afd together and between themselves did accompt of and concerning
   divers Sumes of Tobacco from her the Said Deft to him the Said Plt then and there
   due and unpaid and upon that Account the Said Deft was then and there found in
   arrearages towards the Said Plt in ye Said Sume of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco
   and being So found in arrearages did then and there upon herselfe assume & to
   the Said Plt. then and there faithfully promise that She the Said Deft the Said
   Sum of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco to the Said Plt when She Should be ——
   thereunto required would well and truly pay and Content Nevertheless the Said
   Deft her promises & assumptions afd in form afd made little minding or regarding
   but plotting and fraudulently him the Said Plt in this behalf craftily & Subtilly -
   to deceive & defraud the Said Severall Sums of Tobacco or any part thereof to ye Sd
   Plt hath not paid or made Content altho’ to do the Same the Said Deft the
   Sixth day of December in the Year afd at the Parish County and Jurisdiciõn afd
   and oftener Since by the Said Plt hath been thereto required but to pay the Same
   hath hitherto refused & Still doth refuse to the damage of the Said Plt one Thousand
   pounds of Tobacco and thereupon he brings Suite &ca.
                                                                  Johnson pr Quer plds Jno Doe Rd Roe
    and the afd Deft in her proper person appeared to the afd Accon and Saith
   that She cannot gainsay the Same nor but that She is Indebted to the
   afd Plt the afd Sume of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco and is willing that
   Judgment Shall be entered for the Same and Cost thereon accruing Therefore
   it is Considered by the Court here vizt. this twentieth day of March
   Annoqe Domini One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen That the
   afd Plt William Tower do recover against the Said Deft Lydia Harper
   as well the afd Sume of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco Damages and
   also the Sume of two hundred Eighty one pounds of Tobacco Cost by the
   afd Plt about his Sute in this behalf expended and by the Court here of
   his assent adjudged and the Said Deft in mercy &ca

               at | Same Cepi &ca. And ye Sd Deft being called came And ye Sd.

Special bail to ye afd Accon which was granted And that ye Sd Deft
   be kept in Safe Custody by the Sherf of Sd County untill he Shall give Special bail as afd —
