    208                                       March Court 1718
   Year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven hundred and eighteen at Shrewsbury
   Parish in the County afd and within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court the fear of
   God before her Eyes not having but by the Instigation of the Devill did —
   Committ fornication with a Certain man to the Jurors unknown and thereby
   did Suffer herself to be begott with Child to the High displeasure of Almighty
   God the Evill and pernicious example of others and against the Peace of
   our Said Lord Propr. his rule & dignity and against the form of an Act of
   Assembly of this Province now in force in Such Case made and provided
   Evide. John Brown Cunstable                 DMacbride pr Dno. Propr.
    under the preceeding bill was as folls vizt. Billa vera pr Edward Davis foreman
   and the afd Mary Holeadger being called came and in her proper person
   appeared to the afd Indictment it is ordered by the Court here that the
   afd Mary prove the begitter And She being Sworn in Court Saith that
   a Cerain George Mecay was the person that begatt her with Child of the
   last She bore
     And She Saith that as to the Indictment afd She Cannot gainsay but that
   She is guilty as afd is layd in the afd Indictm.t And Submits to the Court on
   the Same Therefore it is Considered by the Court here vizt. this nineteenth
   day of March Anno Domini one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen—
   that the afd Mary Holeadger pay the Sume of Thirty Shills. Currant Money
   her fine for the offence of fornication afd and also pay the Sume of one
   hundred Eighty Six pounds of Tobo. Cost accruing on the Premises afd

for the Honble the Lord Prop.r & the body of Kent County.
   on their oath do present that William Ellitt late of Worton Hundred in the
   County afd Labourer the Nineth day of May in the Year of our Lord one Thousand
   Seven hundred & Eighteen at Worton Hundred afd in the County afd and within
   the Jurisdiciõn of this Court the fear of God before his Eyes not having but by the
   Instigation of the devill willfully & Contemtuously & in despite of ye good and
   wholesom Laws to ye Evill & pernicious example of others did abuse and profane
   the Lords day by working himselfe or by his Servts. in his Corne field to the High
   displeasure of Almighty God against the peace of our Said Lord propr. his Rule &
   dignity and against the form of an Act of Assembly of this Province now in force
   in Such cases made & provided                                Johnson pr Dnõ Propr.
   Under the preceeding bill was Endorsed as folls vizt. True bill Charles Ringgold foreman
   Thereupon Command was given to the Sherf of Kent County the Twenty Second day
   of November in the fourth Year of his Lord Ships Dominion &ca. That he Cause to .
   come William Ellitt late of Worton hundred in the County afd Labourer if he
