202 March Court 1718 cause to come here twelve &ca. By whome &ca. Because as well &ca. to Recognize &ca Who. neither &ca. And the Sherf of Said County comes and makes return that he hath ready twelve as by his precept it was Commanded who being called came vizt Abraham Redgrave Thomas Medford William Jones Thomas Gideons Thomas Cowarden John Underhill William Debruler William Crow Thomas Piner Thomas Winn Wm Dicas Wm Woodland which Jury being duely elected tryd & Sworn and having heard the Pleadings and allegations on both Sides do depart from the barr and after Some time do againe return and being called over as also the Prisoner at the barr and being asked whether they are agreed on a verdict or not do Say they are agreed on A verdict and being asked whether they find the Prisoner at the barr guilty or not guilty as he Stands Indicted do Say they find the Prisoner at the barr not guilty as he Stands Indicted and by Abraham Redgrave their foreman all So Say Therefore it is Considered by the Court here vizt. this nineteenth day of March Anno Domi one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen That the afd Richard Gaile as to the afd Indictment go thereof without day Paying his fees to the officers of this Court accrueing on the premises afd Amounting to the Sume of Nine hundred Ninety two pounds of Tobacco ordered by the Court here that the afd Richard Return to his masters Service and at the Expiration of his time he be delivered up according to Act of Assembly in Such Cases made &ca. Wm Debruler afd his Recognize. taken as afd in the Sume of twenty pounds Sterlg to be Leveyed Conditionally that if he did not make his appearance at this Court and to answer unto what Should be objected against him on his Lord Ships behalf on Account of a Certain Ann Kinnard proveing before the Said Justice that he ye Said William had Committed fornication with her and thereby did begitt her with Child This Court here discharges the Same Recognizance
the Jurisdiciõn of this Court the fear of God before her Eyes not having but by the Instigation of the Devill did Commit fornication with a Certain man to the Jurors unknown and thereby did Suffer herselfe to be begott with Chidl to the high displeasure of Almighty God the evill and pernicious Example of others and against the peace |
