18 March Court 1717 Said Laughlin so keeping Inn and ordinary vizt. the tenth day of June Anno Domini One thousand Seven hundred & Sixteen at Chester old Town in Kent County afd and within the Jurisdiciõn afd ye. Said Deft~ in Consideration the Said Plt~. at the Special Instance & request of the Said Deft~ had then & there last Said to the Said Deft~ vended Sold & delivered divers Liquors at Certain rates and values as by a particular Accot. thereof here ready in Court to be produced may more plainly and at large appeare referrence being thereunto had Amounting to ye Sume of two pounds three Shills. and Six pence Currant money of Maryland afd upon himselfe assum’d . and to the Said Plt~. then & there last Said faithfully promised that he the Said Deft the afd Sume of Two pounds three Shills & Six pence Curr . money afd unto the Said Plt~ when thereunto afterwards required would well & truly Content & pay And that whereas also the afd deft~ In Consideration ye afd Plt. at the like Special Instnace and request of the Said Deft to wit ye nineth day of June Anno Domini One Thousand Seven hundred &. Sixteen afd at Chester old Town afd in Kent County afd and within the Jurisdiciõn afd had Sold & delivered to ye Said Deft~. to ye use & behoofe of ye Said Deft~ one woollen double Gown upon himselfe Assum’d and to the Said Plt~ then and there faithfully promised that he the Said Deft~ for the Same would well & truly pay to ye Said Plt~. one pounds five Shillings Currt. money of~ Maryland afd when ever after he Should be thereunto required and that whereas also the afd Deft~ that is to Say ye thirtieth day of Aprill Anno Domi one Thousand Seven hundred and Sixteen afd in the County afd & within the Jurisdiciõn afd in Consideration ye afd Plt~. at ye like Special Instance & request of ye Said Deft~ had released acquitted & discharged a Certain John Spencer from his debt of five Shillings Currant money of Maryland afd due to the afd Plt~. from ye afd John Spencer upon himselfe assumed and to the Said Plt~. then and there last Said faithfully Promised that he the Said Deft~. five Shillings Currt. money afd to the Said Plt~. when thereunto required would well and truly Content~ and pay And that Whereas also ye afd Deft that is to Say the Twenty Second day of May Anno Domini One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixteen afd at Chester old Town in the County of Kent~ afd and within the Jurisdiciõn afd in Consideration the afd Plt. at the like Special Instance and request of ye Said Deft~ had discharged acquitted and released a certain Richard Wyatt of and from his the Said Richards debt of Eleven Shillings Currant money of Maryland afd due to the afd Plt from~ ye afd Richard that he the Said Deft~ in Consideration thereof upon himselfe assumed and to the Said Plt ye like Sum of Eleven Shills. Currt. money afd when thereunto afterwards required would well and truly pay & Content~ and altho’ the afd Christopher Bateman afterwards at Chester old Town in Kent County afd and within the Jurisdiciõn afd to wit ye. Twenty Sixth day of Sepber. Anno. Domini One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixteen afd paid the afd Laughlin |
