   Promises and assumptions afd in forme afd made as to the afd Severall Summes of
   Tobacco in the whole amounting unto the Summe of Six Thousand and thirty Six
   pounds of Merchantable Tobacco he hath not mined nor in any wise kept but altho’
   the Said Deft hath paid and Satisfied to him the Said Plt the Sume of five —
   hundred and Sixty Nine pounds of Tobacco of the afd Six Thousand and thirty
   Six pounds of Tobacco part Yet the afd Deft his promises and assumptions as
   to the Sumes of Ffive Thousand four hundred and Sixty Seven pounds of Tobacco
   of the afd Six Thousand and thirty Six pounds of Tobacco residue little regarding
   but plotting and fraudulently Intending him the Said Plt of the afd Sume of five Thousand
   four hundred and Sixty Seven pounds of Tobacco Craftily to deceive and defraud the
   Said five Thousand four hundred and Sixty Seven pounds of Tobacco the Same Deft
   to him the Said Plt hath not paid nor made Content for the Same altho’ to pay the
   Same he the Said Deft the Eighteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord
   Christ Seventeen hundred and Seventeen at the Parish County & Jurisdiciõn afd was —
   thereunto required but the said Deft the Said Ffive Thousand four hundred Sixty & Seven
   pounds of Tobacco to the Said Plt to pay hitherto hath denied and Still doth deny to the
   damage of him the Said Plt Tenn Thousand pounds of like Tobacco afd and thereupon he—

   on the back of the preceeding Acco^t. was Endorsed as foll^s viz^t. This Twenty
   nineth day of May Annoq Domini 1718 the within written William Rock
   made oath upon the holy Evangelist of Almighty God that the within Acco^t.
   is Just and true as it Stands there Stated and that he hath not received any
   part or parcell thereof more then he hath^^theregiven Credit for before me one of
   his Lord Ships Justices of the Province of Maryland    Jam Harris
   and the afd Deft by Michael Howard his att^ry appears to the afd Accõn and
   prays liberty thereof to imparle thereto and to answer at next Court which—
   was granted the Same day was given the Plt also
    Att which Said next Court viz^t. the nineteenth day of August the afd Deft
   by his afd Att^ry pleads as foll^s viz^t. the Said Deft by Michael Howard his attorney
   comes and defends the force and Injury when &c^a. And as to the first Second third
   and fourth assumptions in the Declaration above Specified the Said Deft Saith that
   he did not assume in Manner and forme as the Said Plt above against him the Said
   Deft hath declared and of this he puts himselfe upon the Country &c^a
