    and the afd Plt by his attry afd prayd that the Said Deft to his Decln afd might
   answer
        and the afd Deft. by Thomas Bowne his attry appeared to the above accon &
   prayd liberty thereof to imparle thereto and to answer at next Court which was —
   granted the Same day was given the Plt. in like manner
        Att which Said next Court vizt. this twenty first day of August Anno Domini
   one thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen The afd Cause Standing for Tryall came
   the afd Plt. by John Johnson his attry and the Said Deft by Thomas Bowne
   his attry. Saith that he is not informed by the afd Deft what to plead So that he
   Can Say nothing why Judgment Should not be rendered &ca.   Therefore it is
   Considered by the Court here vizt. the Same day last mentioned That the afd Plt.
   James Knowles Recover against the Said Deft Christopher Bateman as well
   the afd Sume of five hundred and forty five pounds of Tobacco the Debt afd as
   also the Sume of Three hundred and four pounds of Tobacco Cost by the afd Plt
   about his Sute in this behalfe Expended and by the Court here of his assent adjudg
