State of Maryland      Anne Arundel County to wit
Be it remembered that on this 26th day of August in the
year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty four before the
subscriber a justice of the peace of the state of Maryland in
and for the County aforesaid personally appears Wm Disney
Sr the grantor in the aforegoing instrument of writing and
acknowledged the same to be his act and deed for the
purpose therein set forth   In testimony I have hereunto set
my hand on the day and year first above written

To all persons to whom it doth or may concern  Be it
Known that I Nicholas J Watkins of Annapolis in the
County of Anne Arundel County and state of Maryland
for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto
moving do hereby release from slavery manumit liberate
and set free from and after the first day of April in the
year eighteen hundred and seventy two one negro woman
slave belonging to me by the name of Mary or Mary
Cann or by whatsoever name she may be known or called
bearing at this time between seventeen and eighteen years of
age and the said negro woman slave I do declare to be
thenceforth that is to say from and after the first day of
April eighteen hundred and seventy two free manumitted
and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to
me my executors or administrators and from all manner
of claim ^or right of claim^ of servitude or service by me my executors or
administrators forever.  And I do hereby also in like
manner manumit liberate release from slavery and
set free an infant male child of the above named
negro woman called James Henry now about two
weeks old from and after he the said Child shall
have arrived at the age of thirty five years.  And I do
