State of Maryland   Anne Arundel County Sct
Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this
thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and fifty four before me the
subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of Maryland
for said County personally appears Brice B. Brewer he being
KNown to be the person who is named and described as
and professing to be a party to the aforegoing deed or
indenture and doth acknowledge the said indenture or
instrument of writing to be his act and deed.  In witness
whereof I hereunto subscribe my name the day and year
aforesaid

To all whom it may concern be it Known that I William
Disney Sr of Anne Arundel County in the state of Maryland
for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto
moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and
set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery
liberate manumit and set free my negro woman named
Caroline Jones being of the age of thirty two years and able
to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance
and her the said negro woman named Caroline Jones I do
declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from
all manner of service or servitude to me my executor
administrators forever.   In witness whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and seal on this 26th day of August in the year
of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty four
