73. of the age of Twenty seven years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said slave woman named Ann Kennard the said Thomas Franklin Trustee as aforesaid doth hereby declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude to the said Mary Shaw her Executors administrators forever. In witness whereof the said Thomas Franklin Trustee as aforesaid hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal on this Fourteenth day of May in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty two Signed sealed and delivered in p^r^esence of Jno T Taylor Th Franklin Trustee (seal) Jas S Franklin of Mary Shaw State of Maryland Anne Arundel County To wit On this Fourteenth day of May in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty two before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for the County aforesaid personally appeared Thomas Franklin who is known to me of my own knowledge to be the person named and described as and professing to the party manumitted in the foregoing Instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed Jno G Taylor J. P. I hereby Certify this day 1852 received one dollar for stamp duty on this Instrument of writing agreeably to the Act of Assembly of December session 1846 chap 61 Sworn under my hand this 20 day of May A D 1852 N H Green Clk C.
