testimony whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and affixed my seal this
second day of April in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and forty nine
Signed sealed      Benjamin F. Wells  (Seal)
and delivered
in presence of
    W.m F. Harise
    J. Wesley McGee
    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
On this 2.nd day of April 1849 personally
appears Benjamin F. Wells party to the
within Instrument of Writing before the
subscriber a Justice of the Peace for said
County and acknowledges the same to
be his act and deed for the purposes
within mentioned and the negro woman
within named and her Increase to be free
and forever discharged from servitude
from and after the death of said Wells
according to the Act of Assembly in such case
made and provided
