59 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this 17.th day of November 1849 before me the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Anne Arundel County aforesaid personally appears Elizabeth Pindell she being known to me as the person who is named and described as and professing to be a party to the foregoing deed of manumission and doth acknowledge the said Indenture or instrument of writing to be her act and deed In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name on the day and year aforesaid J. S. Owens Recorded the 8.th day of January 1852
for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free our negro man Lewis Parker being about forty years of age and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said Lewis Parker we do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to us our executors or administrators |
