by Bill of Sale bearing date the first day of September
eighteen hundred and forty one recorded in
Liber W. S. G. No 2 folio 140 one of the record books
of Anne Arundel County clerks office she the
said Rhoda being able to work and gain a
sufficient livelihood and maintenance
and I do declare her the said Rhoda to
be henceforth free manumitted and discharged
from all manner of service or servitude to
me my executors or administrators forever
          In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal this eighth day of
May eighteen hundred and forty nine

       Be it remembered and it is hereby certified
that on this 8.th day of May 1849 before the
Subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of
Maryland in and for Anne Arundel
County aforesaid personally appears Hazel
Haynes he being satisfactorily proved by oral
testimony under oath received by me to be
the person named and described as and
professing to be a party to the aforegoing deed
and doth acknowledge the said deed or
Instrument of Writing to be his act and deed
In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my
name on the day and year aforesaid
