50 me my Executors or Administrators forever In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 29.th day of November 1848 Ja.s Cheston (seal) Witness Owen M. Taylor Stephen L. Lee Anne Arundel County to wit: Be it remembered that on this 29.th day of November 1848 personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid Ja.s Cheston and acknowledged the within and above to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned Acknowledged before Owen M. Taylor Recorded the 29.th day of November 1848
to me paid and in further consideration of the claims of humanity do by these presents manumit set free and forever release from any and all obligations to labor for or serve me my heirs administrators assigns or any person or persons claiming from or under me from this time forth my negro woman Harriett (called Harriet Ogle) about thirty eight years old and of healthy constitution and her infant child Lama Amelia about eight months old |
