moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man Henry Hoxton being of the age of about twenty seven years the said Henry Hoxton being one of the slaves belonging to the estate of the late John S Whittington assigned to his widow now Mary Manwaring and her husband Lucius Manwaring sold to me the said slave being sound and able to work and gain a sufficient maintenance and livelihood and him the said negro man Henry Hoxton I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my Executors or administrators forever In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal (Seal) on this Twentieth day of April in the year of Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty seven Richard Weems Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of W.m Glover Geo.
