the third day of March eighteen hundred and fifty nine and by these
presents do hereby release from Slavery manumit and set free my negro
boy named Jack from and after the third day of March aforesaid being
the same boy hired to John H Iglehart on the third day of March
eighteen hundred and forty five for fifteen years and now about fifteen
years of age  And I do hereby declare the said boy Jack from and
after the said third day of March Eighteen hundred and fifty
nine to be thenceforth free manumitted and discharged from all
manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators
forever      In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed my seal this twenty sixth day of August in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four

    At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit:
    Received on the day of the date of the above deed of manumission
or instrument of writing the Sum of five dollars being the consideration
money therein mentioned to be paid me
Witness A Weltenberger                  Mary L. Hammond
State of Maryland City of Baltimore to wit:  Be it remembered
that on this 26th day of __ Eighteen hundred and forty four personally
appears before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for
said City Mary L. Hammond and acknowledges the within
Deed of manumission or instrument of writing to be his act and
deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the negro boy
therein named to be free and manumitted according to the act of
assembly in such cases made and provided
                              Acknowledged before Anthony M Henberger
State of Maryland Baltimore County Sct.   I hereby certify
that Anthony M Henberger Gentleman before whom the above
acknowledgement was made and who has thereto signed
his name was at the time of so doing a justice of the
peace of the State of Maryland in and for the city of
Baltimore duly commissioned and sworn
