Ex.d d.d             In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe
             (Seal)    my name and affix the seal of Baltimore
                          County Court this 24.th day of August 1814

To all whom it may concern be it known that I Joseph
G. Harrison of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland
for divers good causes and considerations me thereto moving as also
for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars current
money to me in hand paid or agreed to be paid by John Allein
a free coloured man of the said County in the year Eighteen
hundred and twenty five for the purchase of my negro woman
slave named Dolly Allein the wife of the said John Allein to be
thereafter immediately set free and manumitted with all her issue
thereafter born of which purchase money portions thereof has
been paid prior to the year Eighteen hundred and thirty and the
entire price or consideration aforesaid hath been since paid to me
by the said John Allein and for and in consideration of the premises
have released from slavery liberated and manumitted and set
free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate
and set free my aforesaid negro Slave Dolly now about forty
two years of age and her children by the said John Allein born after
the contract and agreement aforesaid five in number to wit James
Allein born on the 29.th day of September 1825 Sarah Allein
born on the 4.th day of April 1827 Mary Allein born on the 1.st
day of March 1831 Penelope Allein born on the 1.st day of April
1837 and Armemeis Allein born on the 31.st day of July 1812 the
said negroes do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and
discharged from all manner of Servitude or service to me my
executors or administrators forever   In testimony whereof I have
hereto set my hand and affixed my seal this fourth day of October
Eighteen hundred & forty four
