242 in consideration thereof I William H Heath of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said enlistment manumit set free and release the above named Stephen Smith from all service due me his freedom to commence from the 17.th day of March 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the thirtieth Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the United States Witness my hand and seal this fourteenth day of September 1865 Witness William H Heath (seal) Dorsey Jacob Stephen Lark William S Arminger Anne arundel County State of Maryland Sepr 14th 1865 Before me appeared this day William H Heath and acknowledged the above deed of manumission and Release of Service to be his free act and deed U S Stamp 5c D. Sepr Dorsey Jacob J Peace 14th 1865 A A Co M.d Recorded 10th day of Oct 1865 Deed of Manumission and release of Service Whereas my Slave Samuel Richards has enlisted in the Service of the United States now in consideration thereof I Samuel D Lynch of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said enlistment manumit set free and release the above named Samuel Richards from all service due me his freedom to commence from the 31st March 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 39.th Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the United States Witness my hand and seal this 25th day of October |
