I Rachel Tydings of anne arundel County State of Maryland
do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment  Manumit
set free and release the abovenamed Rachel Tydings from all
service due me his freedom to commence from 17 day of march
1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 30 Regiment
of Colored Troops in the service of the united states
          Witness My hand and Seal this Seventh day of

Recorded the 9 day of January 1864

Deed of Manumission and Release of Service
                Whereas My slave James Chew has enlisted in the
service of the United States  Now in Consideration thereof I
John L Tydings of anne arundel County State of Maryland
do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment Manumit Set free
and release the above named James Chew from all service
due me his freedom to commence from the 10 day of March
1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 30
Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united states
Witness My hand and six this seventh day of June 1864
