209 U States Internal Tydings and acknowledged the above Deed Revenue Stamp of Manumission and Release of Service to be 5 Cents D J his free act and deed 7 June 1864 Dorsey Jacob J P Recorded the 9 day of January 1864 E Deed of Manumission and Release of service Whereas My slave Joseph H Wright has enlisted in the service of the united states Now in consideration thereof I Catherine Ireland of anne arundel County state of Maryland do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment Manumit set free and release the above named Joseph H Wright from all service due me his freedom to Commence from the 16 March 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united states Witness My hand and Seal this 30 day of march 1865 his Witness Catharine x Ireland (seal) Owen M Taylor mark A W Richardson Thomas E Brown Anne arundel County State of maryland March 30 1865 Before me appeared this day Catharine Ireland and acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission and Release of Service to be his act and deed Owen M Taylor J P Recorded the 20 March 1865 Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas My slave William Spencer has enlisted in the service of the united states Now in Consideration thereof I Saml H Sasser of anne arundel |
