193 thirtieth Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united states Company D as appear by roll now on file in the Treasury Department of this state Witness my hand and seal this 17 day of September 1864 Witness Fredk Cowman Owen M Taylor Edward Cowman W H McParlen Anne arundel County State of Maryland 11 Sepr 1864 U States Internal Before me appeared this day Frederick Cowman Revenue Stamp and acknowledged the above Deed of manumission 5cts O M T and Release of service to be her free act and deed 17 Sep 1864 Owen M Taylor J P Recorded the 17 day of September 1864 E Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas the slave Philip H Pindell literary to the estate of Mr C Thomas has enlisted in the service of the united states Now in consideration thereof I James Cheston Junr of anne arundel County State of Maryland do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment Manumit Set free and release the above named Philip H Pindell from all service due me his freedom to commence from the 28 day of February 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united states Witness My hand and Seal this 29 day of September 1844 James Cheston Junr Witness Executor of the Estate of Nathaniel Chew Mr C Thomas (Seal) H M Murray Anne arundel County State of Maryland 1864 Sept 29 1864 U States Internal Before me appeared this day James Cheston Junr Revenue Stamp and acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission 5 Cents N C 29 Sep 1864 |
