181 U States Inter Revenue Anne arundel County State of Stamp 5.cts W R T Maryland May 28 1864 28 May 1864 Before me appeared this day Rachel S Tuck and acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission and Release of Service to be his free act and deed Wm R Thompson J P Recorded the 28 day of May 1864 E Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas My slave Joseph addison has enlisted in the service of the united states Now in Consideration thereof I Maria L Steele of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment Manumit set free and release the above named Joseph addison from all service due me his freedom to Commence from the 25 of February 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united states Witness my hand and seal this 28 day of May 1864 Maria Lloyd Steele (seal) Witness Owen M Taylor Jos R Howison M S Claude U States Internal Revenue Anne arundel County Stamp 5 Cents O M T State of Maryland May 28 1864 28 May 1864 Before me appeared this day Maria L Steele and acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission and Release of service to be her free act and deed Owen M Taylor J P Recorded 28 May 1864 |
