U S Internal Revenue   and acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission
Stamp 5 Cents             and Release of service to be his free act and
W R T 28 ap 1864      deed                        Wm R Thompson JP
Recorded the 28 april 1864



Deed of Manumission and Release of Service
             Whereas My slave William Bell has enlisted
in the service of the united states   Now in Consideration
thereof I George Wells of Anne arundel County state
of Maryland do hereby in Consideration of said
enlistment Manumit set free and release the above
named William Bell from all service due me her
freedom to Commence from the 23 day of February
1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the
30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service
of the united states
             Witness my hand and Seal this 28 day of april
