173 enlisted in the service of the united states now in consideration thereof I J Brooke Meade of Annearundel County State of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said enlistment Manumit set free and release the above named Richard Blacklock from all service due me his freedom to Commence from the first day of March the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united States Witness My hand and Seal this 29 day of april 1864 J Brooke Meade Witness Wm H Carter John Spear Edward Baldwin Anne arundel County State of Maryland 1864 ap 29th U S Int Revenue Before me appeared this day J Brooke Meade Stamp 5 cents and acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission W R T ap 1864 and Release of Service to be his free act and deed Wm R Thompson J P Recorded the 29 April 1864 E Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas My slave Eli Paxon has enlisted in the service of the united states Now in Consideration thereof I H F Hancock of Anne arundel County state of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said enlistment Manumit Set free and release the above named Eli Paxon from all service due me her freedom to Commence from the 31 of March the day of his enlistment a aforesaid in the 39 Regiment of Colored Troops in the Service of the united States Witness My hand and Seal this 4 day of May 1864 |
