Deed of manumission from
Ann Dorsey to negro Isaac
Jackson dated the 18.th day
of February 1846
 To all whom
it may concern
be it known
that I Ann
Dorsey of Anne
Arundel County in the State of Maryland
for divers good causes and considerations
me thereunto moving have released from
slavery liberated manumitted and set free
and by these presents do hereby release from
slavery liberate manumit and set free my
negro man named Isaac Jackson being of
the age of twenty six years and able to work
and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance
and him the said negro man Isaac
Jackson I do declare to be henceforth free
manumitted and discharged from all
manner of service or servitude to me my
executors or administrators forever  I witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed my seal this eighteenth day of February
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and forty six

At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit
State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that
on this fifteenth day of February in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six
before me the Subscriber a justice of the peace of the
State of Maryland in and for Anne Arundel County
aforesaid personally appears Ann Dorsey she being
known to me to be the person who is named and
