153 State of Maryland do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment Manumit set free and release the above named Lewis Wilson from all service due me his freedom to Commence from the 17 March 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the thirtieth Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united states Witness my hand and seal this Twenty fifth day of March 1864 Witness Charles Smith (Seal) Wm Hawkins G W Taylor Anne arundel County U States Int State of Maryland March 25 1864 Revenue Stamp Before me appeared this day Charles Smith 5 Cents W H and acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission 25 March 1864 and Release of Service to be his free act and deed Wm Hawkins Recorded the 2 day of april 1864 E Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas my slave Hanson Tyler has enlisted in the service of the united States: now in consideration thereof I Regnal D Woodward of Anne Arundel County State of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said enlistment Manumit Set free and release the above named Hanson Tyler from all service due me: his freedom to commence from the 23 day of March 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 39 Regiment of Colored Troops in the Service of the United States Witness my hand and seal this Seventh day of April 1864 R D Woodward (seal) Witness Owen M Taylor Justice of the Peace anne arundel Co Md Absalom A Hall Ramsay Hodges |
