15 age and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and them the said negroes I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my executors or administrators forever. I also manumit and set free Dolly Johnson aged fourteen years to be free on the first day of January eighteen hundred and forty nine and ever after release her from all manner of service or servitude to me my executors or administrators forever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of January Eighteen hundred and forty six Signed sealed and delivered Rezin H. Snowden (seal) in presence of us S. Gambrill Benj E. Gantt At the foot of the foregoing was thus written to wit State of Maryland Anne Arundel County ss. Be it remembered that on this sixth day of January in the year eighteen hundred and forty six before me the Subscriber a justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for Anne Arundel County personally appears Rezin H Snowden and acknowledges the foregoing Instrument of writing to be his act and deed and the negroes therein mentioned Ex d d to be manumitted and set free costs Acknowledged before S. Gambrill 56¼cts Recorded the sixth day of January 1846
