149 E Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas my slave John H Davis has enlisted in the service of the United States: now in consideration thereof I William Bryan of Anne arundel County State of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said enlistment Manumit set free and release the above named Johua Davis from all service due me his freedom to Commence from the 23d day of Feby 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 30th Regiment of Colored Troops in the source of the United States Witness my hand and seal this 30th day of March 1864 Witnesses W.m Bryan (Seal) Owen M. Taylor Justice of the Peace Anne arundel County Ma Anne arundel County State of Maryland March 30 1864 ( 5cts U S Intl ) Before me appeared this day William Bryan ( Revenue Stamp ) and acknowledged the above Deed of (O W T 30 march) Manumission and Release of Service ( 1864 ) to be ^his^ free act and deed Owen M Taylor J. P Recorded the 30 day of March 1864 E Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas my slave Dennis Johnson has enlisted in the service of the United States now in Consideration thereof I Dorsey Jacobs of anne arundel County state of Maryland do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment manumit set free and release the above named Dennis Johnson from all service due me his freedom to Commence from the 1.st day of March 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the United States |
