    Before me appeared this day Eli Lusby and
acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission and
Release of service to be his free act and deed

Deed of Manumission and Release of Service
       Whereas My slave William Williams has enlisted
in the Service of the united states   Now in Consideration
thereof I Thomas M Cole of annearundel County State
of Maryland do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment
Manumit Set free and release the above named William
Williams from all service due me his freedom to commence from
the 17 day of March 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid
in the 30 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the
united states Witness my hand and seal this 24 day
of March 1864                     Thomas M Cole   (Seal)
