Before me appeared this day Dorsey Jacobs and
acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission and Release
of Service to be his free act and deed

State of Maryland Baltimore City Sc   I hereby
Certify that W H Hayward Esquire before whom
the annexed acknowledgment was made and who has
thereto subscribed his name was at the time of so doing
a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for
the City of Baltimore duly Commissioned and Sworn
                                      In Testimony whereof I hereto set
U S Int Revenue             my hand and affix the Seal
Stamp 5 Cents   (Seal)   of the Superior Court of Baltimore
A M 28 March               City this 28 day of March A D

    Deed of Manumission and Release of Service
          Whereas my Slave George Edwards has enlisted
in the Service of the United States:  Now in Consideration
thereof I Samuel E Duvall of anne arundel County
State of Maryland do hereby in consideration of said
enlistment Manumit Set free and release a consideration
of said enlistment Manumit Set free and release the
above named George Edwards from all service due me
