143 manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release manumit and set free the following negro slaves vizt Araham Hill age not known to be free six years from the first of July Eighteen hundred and sixty Henrietta Johnson aged four years named in another deed of Manumission to be free the first of March Eighteen hundred and ninety one and all her issue if any to be free at the age of thirty five Sound and healthy and the said Abraham Hill and Henrietta Johnson I do declare to be from the above stated periods free Manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service for me my Executors or administrators In Witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal the twenty ninth day of may Eighteen hundred and sixty Wm Shipley (seal) Witness Redolphus Shipley William S Shipley At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne arundel County to wit I hereby Certify On this the twenty Ninth day of may in the year Eighteen hundred and sixty before the Subscriber Justice of the peace of the state of maryland and of the County of Anne arundel and acknowledge the above Indenture or deed of manumission to be his act and deed In Testimony thereof I hereunto subscribe my name Enos Shipley Recorded the 30 day of may 1860 I Henry Joyce of Anne arundel County and State of maryland do hereby manumit and set free my negro slaves as follows vizt negro girl Ellen born in april 1849 to be free on the first day of may 1880 negro girl Lottee born in December November 1854 to be free on the first day (of) |
