142 aged thirty one years to be free six years from the fifth of July Eighteen hundred and sixty Thomas Galloway aged twenty three years to be free the first of June Eighteen hundred and seventy four Margaret Johnson aged thirty one years to be free the twenty first of August Eighteen hundred and sixty six and her issue if any to be free at the age of thirty five Henrietta Johnson aged four years to be free the first of march Eighteen hundred Ninety one all sound and healthy and the said Henry Ringold Thomas Galloway Margaret Johnson Henrietta Johnson I do declare to be from the above stated periods free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service for me My Executors or administrators In Witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and affix my seal the twenty fourth day of may Eighteen hundred and sixty Witness Wm Shipley (seal) Larkin Shipley R A Shipley At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne arundel County to wit On this the twenty fourth day of may in the year Eighteen hundred and sixty before the Subscriber Justice of the Peace of the state of maryland and of the County of Anne arundel and acknowledge the above Indenture or deed of manumission to be his act and deed In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name Enos Shipley JP Recorded the 30 day of May 1860 To all whom it may concern be it known that William Shipley of Anne arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and Considerations thereunto have released from Slavery |
