141 to me and acknowledged the above instrument to be his act paid and deed Nathaniel Chew 75 Recorded the 30 day of May 1860 To all whom it may Concern be it known that I James Cheston of Anne arundel County in the state of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro woman Eliza Sparrow being about thirty one years of age together with her child Mary Eliza Sparrow about one year old also my negro woman Rachel Jennings about thirty five years of age and her two sons James Smith and John Smith aged respectively fourteen & twelve years and them the said Negroes I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my Executors or administrators forever Witness Saml Cheston James Cheston (seal) On this 28 day of may 1860 personally appeared before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for Anne arundel County James Cheston well known to me & acknowledged the above instrument to be his act paid and deed Nathaniel Chew 75 Recorded the 30 day of may 1860 To all whom it may Concern be it known that I William Shipley of Anne arundel County in the state of maryland for divers good Causes and Considerations thereunto moving have released from slavery Manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery Manumit and set free all the following negro slaves viz.t Henry Ringold |
