from the date aforesaid      In Witness whereof I hereto
subscribe my name and seal this Twenty fifth
day of may Eighteen hundred and sixty

             I hereby Certify that on this twenty fifth
day of may Eighteen hundred and sixty personally
appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the peace
of the State and County aforesaid Robert Franklin
and did acknowledge the aforegoing manumission
to be his act                        Wm Glover
paid   Recorded the 25 day of may 1860


Know all Men by these Presents that I
Nicholas J Crisp of anne arundel County and
state aforesaid do by these Presents manumit and
set free my negro woman named Harriet Stepney
slave for life aged about nineteen years she to be
free on and after the Twenty fifth day of December
in the year Eighteen hundred and Seventy two  Witness
my hand and seal this      day of may in the year
of our Lord Eighteen hundred and sixty
