127 free Manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me My Executors or administrators for ever In Witness whereof I hereby affix my hand and seal this 16 day of Nov 1859 Witness Frank H Stockett Jacob Winchester (seal) Wm Glover at the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of Md Anne arundel County Sct on this 16 day of Nov 1859 personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of said state in and for said County Jacob Winchester and did acknowledge the aforegoing deed of Manumission to be her act Wm Glover Recorded the 16 day of November 1859 I J H C Coffen of the City of Annapolis in the State of maryland do hereby Manumit and set free My negro slave named James Henry Clagett who will be of the age of sixteen years on the Twenty third day of may Eighteen hundred and sixty His freedom to Commence from the twenty third day of may in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and seventy Witness my hand and seal this 23 day of November Eighteen hundred and fifty nine Test Wm Glover J H C Coffen (seal) O D Robb at the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne arundel County Sc Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this twenty third day of november eighteen hundred and fifty Nine personally appeared before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland in and for said County I H C Coffen and did each acknowledge the aforegoing manumission to be his act and deed acknowledged before Wm Glover Recorded the 12 day of December 1859 |
