120 and him the said negro man named Henry Harwood I do declare to be henceforth free Manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me My Executors or administrators In Witness whereof I have hereunto affixed my hand and seal this Eighteenth day of november 1858 Test Wm Glover Wm Brewer (seal) Ellen Gassaway At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Anne arundel County sct on this 11 day of November 1858 personally appeared before the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland in and for said County William Brewer and did acknowledge the aforegoing deed of manumission to be her act and deed W.m Glover Recorded the 16 day of November 1858 I George Wells of Anne arundel County and State of Maryland do hereby Manumit and set free my two negro slaves to wit Joshua Matthews aged about thirty Eight years and Bresler Matthews aged about thirty six years their freedom to Commence from the date of these Presents Witness my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of November Eighteen hundred and fifty Eight Test A Hammond G Wells (seal) Wm H McParlen At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland anne arundel County to wit On this twenty fourth day of november Eighteen hundred and fifty Eight personally appeared before the Subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the state of maryland in and for said County George Wells and acknowledged the aforegoing deed of manumission |
