110 manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty ninth day of May in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty six Signed Sealed and delivered S H. Brice (seal) in the presence of J. K. Law Arthur M Burten Received on this twenty ninth day of May 1856 the sum of one dollar it being the full consideration money within mentioned Witness present S H Brice (seal) Arthur M Burten State of Pennsylvania City of Philadelphia Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this twenty ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six before me the undersigned Arthur M Burten a Commissioner of the state of Maryland resident in the City of Philadelphia state of Pennsylvania aforesaid to take the acknowledgments to deeds &c to be used or recorded in the said state of Maryland duly commissioned and qualified personally came and appeared the above named Sophia H. Brice she being satisfactorily proven by oral testimony under oath received by me to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be the party to the foregoing Instrument of writing under seal and (seal) doth acknowledge the said Instrument of writing to be her act and deed In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my official seal the day and year aforesaid paid Arthur M.
