103 Know all men by these presents that I Amos Williams of Anne Arundel County for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free my negro boy Alexander Williams aged two years on the fourteenth day of July eighteen hundred and fifty five which said negro boy Alexander Williams I purchased from Eliza Kirby on the twenty sixth day of June in the year eighteen hundred and fifty five at and for the sum of seventy five dollars as will appear by reference to the receipt of the said Eliza Kirby for said purchase money now in my possession. And him the said Alexander Williams I do hereby declare to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of service and servitude to me my heirs executors or administrators forever from and at the time when he shall arrive at the age of twenty five years which will be on the fourteenth day of July eighteen hundred and seventy eight at which time this deed of manumission is to take effect and not before In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this second day of August in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty five Signed sealed and delivered in his presence of Amos x Williams (seal) John E. Stalker Jehu Sullivan mark State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct On this second day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty five before the subscriber a justice of the peace of said state in and for said County personally appeared Amos Williams he being known to me to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be the party grantor in the aforegoing deed of manumission and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed acknowledged before and certified by paid John E.
