88 aged fifteen years to be free the 1.st January Eighteen hundred and thirty my negro Girl Laura Hawkins aged four years to be free the first of January Eighteen hundred and forty my negro Girl mary Ennis aged two years to be free the 1st of January Eighteen hundred and forty two and also Nancy Ennis aged six months to be free the 1.st of January Eighteen hundred and forty three I do hereby acknowledge the same negroes and their issue the males at the expiration of twenty five years and females at the age of twenty one (if born during the servitude of their mothers) to be discharged from all claim after these their respective terms of servitude as above mentioned from me my heirs Executors and administrators for ever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of June Eighteen hundred and Eighteen Signed Sealed and delivered in the presents of Samuel Gover (seal) Thomas Sellman Walter Wyvill At the foot of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: ann arundel County ss.s Be it remembered That on the twentieth day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and Eighteen came Samuel Gover before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and an act of assembly made and provided chd Acknowledged Before Thomas Sellman 3 Recorded the 24th day of September 1818 |
